Accidents: PHI LongRanger lost in Congo

Bell 206L-1 LongRanger, Muanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, May 9, 2008–The pilot of the Petroleum Helicopters LongRanger was killed when it crashed into the water near Muanda. It was flying from one tanker ship to another. The helicopter wreckage sank into 7,500 feet of water. The DRC Civil Aviation Authority is investigating, aided by an NTSB representative.
