The Airbus Corporate Jetliner Center in Toulouse, France, which opened for business in July, has taken in its first two aircraft for cabin outfitting, both from the ACJ line and both to be furnished with executive interiors for private owners. The completion and refurbishment center, located at the former EADS Sogerma facilities, expects to build its annual capacity to three narrowbody ACJs (the A319-based Airbus Corporate Jetliner, the A318 Elite and A320 Prestige). Airbus expects to have invested $7 million in the facilities by the time improvements are completed early next year. The reason for opening the new center was evident in an Airbus representative’s complaint recently that the first available slots at some independent completion centers specializing in narrowbody bizliner outfitting are in 2009.
