Canadian Pilot Groups Appeal New Fees

Later this month the Canadian Transportation Agency is expected to rule on an appeal by the Canadian Pilots Association and the Helicopter Association of Canada against new user fees. A $10 daily charge for aircraft weighing 6,600 pounds or less using any of seven major international airports is scheduled to go into effect on March 1, 2008. Nav Canada, the country’s ATC services provider, opposes the appeal.
