The fallout of the Hawker Beechcraft bankruptcy continues to settle as Little Rock (Ark.) Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport prepares to seek a new tenant for the former Wichita OEM’s completion and MRO facilities. The Little Rock facility was shut down by the former Hawker Beechcraft (now Beechcraft) earlier this year as part of a decision to exit the business of building business jets.

With construction already under way on the new Aerovale aeronautical community in Caçapava, about 65 miles northeast of São Paulo, Brazil, CEO Rogério Penido made a visit to Miami in September for a series of meetings with local business aviation executives and aircraft owners in an effort to attract support and investors in the project.
Upgrades are coming to Kansas City, Mo.’s two main airports, thanks to the hard work of staffers at the Kansas City Aviation Department. Both Kansas City International Airport and Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport have received grants totalling nearly $12 million for improvement projects that range from taxiway upgrades, paving and a fire-fighting vehicle storage facility. Neither airport is supported by general tax fund revenues–both rely exclusively on airport user charges and grants for administration, promotion, operation and maintenance.
TAG Farnborough Airport (Booth No. C6726) has outlined some of its plans over the next decade, including new on-site facilities such as upscale office space, a dedicated customer entrance to the airport, additional passenger lounges and other enhancements, it announced here at NBAA 2013.

Representatives from Nagoya Airport are here at NBAA (Booth No. C11635) to discuss its convenient location within Japan and its suitability for business aviation travelers. Nagoya is one of the few airports in the country to be considered business-aviation specific, as the larger Central Japan International Airport was built nearby to handle the bulk of the area’s commercial traffic.
ASIG Panamá expanded its services in Panama at the beginning of this month, launching aircraft fueling services at Albrook “Marcos A. Gelbert” International Airport on October 1. As operator of the airport’s sole fuel facility, the company provides fueling service for all general aviation and domestic commercial flights at the airport.
NetJets “soft opened” its new 10,000-sq-ft dedicated passenger terminal solely for the fractional provider’s customers at Palm Beach (Fla.) International Airport last month, almost exactly a year after breaking ground on the facility. A formal grand opening is scheduled for November 6, but AIN was able to get a first look at the new complex just before the NBAA Convention this week.
Atlantic Aviation announced today that it will embark on a more than $15 development project for its two Houston-area FBOs. At its flagship Houston Hobby location, the company will build a new 16,000-sq-ft terminal, which will replace its current 1972-vintage structure that is one of the original Atlantic FBOs.
ExecuJet Aviation has begun aircraft handling operations at a temporary general aviation terminal at Indonesia’s Bali International Airport. The facility is ExecuJet’s first to open following the last year’s signing of an MoU with state-owned Indonesian airport manager Angkasa Pura I for the design, construction and management of general aviation terminals at up to 13 airports in the Asian country.
Landmark Aviation will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for its new facility at San Diego International Airport. Its FBO campus at the Southern California airfield will include a 20,000-sq-ft terminal, 250,000-sq-ft ramp and five hangars on 12.4 acres. The new facility is also expected to achieve Leed Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. According to Landmark, the new FBO will open late next year.
