Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is slashing prices for landing and parking fees at Abu Dhabi's Al Bateen Executive Airport, effective immediately. Al Bateen is the region's only airport dedicated to business aviation and it is close to the city center of Abu Dhabi.

Pilots across India will soon see the Shell Aviation sign going up for the first time at a number of airports as the international fuel supplier expands its presence from two airports to 12 in the country. Locations soon to welcome Shell Aviation service include Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Calicut, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore and Mangalore. Shell currently operates at Bangalore and Hyderabad.

ExxonMobil Avitat FBO Network Expands
UVflightplanner.com, Universal Weather and Aviation’s flight planning system for business aviation, now has integrated fuel tankering calculations, which the company claims is an industry first. The new system, which goes live this week, allows operators to quickly decide when and how they should fill tanks with fuel during a trip.
Universal Weather & Aviation (Booth No. 7030) is launching a new service to guarantee that fuel purchases in Europe are made at the correct rate of value added tax (VAT). The complimentary service, which started on May 1, should overcome the headaches commonly associated with calculating which VAT rate should apply based on an aircraft operator’s status.
Already a well-known brand in the Caribbean for the past 12 years, Odyssey Aviation (Booth No. 268) plans to open three new FBOs in the Bahamas on November 1. An island-friendly atmosphere will soon be seen at Treasure Cay, Abaco; Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera; and Exuma International, Great Exuma. The FBOs will offer Texaco-branded fuel through Chevron Global Aviation.
In a survey of members who own or operate aircraft hangars, the National Air Transportation Association asked how new National Fire Protection Association 409 foam fire-suppression requirements would affect their businesses. According to NATA, “Forty-four percent of respondents claim that they have cancelled plans to build a hangar or have reduced hangar size because of the cost of compliance with NFPA 409.
Avcard, which claims to be the most widely used and accepted aviation credit card in the world, recently added the approximately 50 Shell Canada Aviation locations to its list of merchants who accept the card. Testing of the new acceptance procedures took place early last month and all Shell Canada Aviation locations are fully capable of Avcard electronic acceptance now.
With the number of wing-collision incidents growing, so has demand for a device to assist pilots in avoiding them. As a result, Securaplane Technologies is developing a wing collision avoidance system (WCAS) for bizjets.
