Meanwhile, up in the “Great White North,” entrepreneur and general aviation pilot Irving Shoichet launched an aircraft charter company and founded the first FBO at Toronto International Airport (renamed Lester B. Pearson International Airport during the 1980s).

NATA ground audit

At NBAA’s Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference in New Orleans this week, the National Air Transportation Association recognized JetCenter Los Angeles at Jack Northrop Field/Hawthorne Municipal Airport as the second FBO to successfully complete the requirement for its Safety 1st Ground Audit Standard.

The FBO industry should expect a flat market this year with spotty increases in fuel sales, according to the results of an annual FBO industry survey conducted by John Enticknap and Ron Jackson, principals of the Aviation Business Strategies Group (ABSG). Their findings, released today at the NBAA Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference in New Orleans, predict that approximately half the marketplace will see a small increase in fuel volume.

Aviation fuel supplier Epic and U.S. Bank Multi Service Aviation introduced a new Epic/Multi Service Aviation co-branded aviation services card today at the Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in New Orleans. According to the companies, the new card will be accepted globally via the Multi Service Aviation network starting in the first quarter.
