Being Nice to Mom

Sometimes being too nice can have negative consequences, as a Southwest Airlines pilot learned recently.
During an inflight announcement to wish happy birthday to the mother of an air traffic controller flying along in the cabin, he used the words “mom on board.” Some passengers misunderstood, thinking he’d said, “bomb on board.”
The pilot, seeming to realize his error, almost immediately corrected himself … but not before a few blood pressures when charging sky high.
