StandardAero Business Aviation is returning to Van Nuys Airport (VNY) in California. “StandardAero’s reestablished business aviation operation at VNY follows a decade-long absence from the location.

“The decision to leave Van Nuys was a management decision made by a team that is not part of StandardAero today. Why we left would be speculation on our part, but the decision to return is to provide enhanced MRO support for a variety of corporate and fractional operators operating in the greater Los Angeles basin,” Marc McGowan, v-p of business development/strategy for StandardAero Business Aviation, told AIN.

The 20,000-sq-ft facility has six employees, with that number expected to rise to 12. Services offered include line maintenance and AOG support for a variety of corporate and fractional operators at the airport.

“We’re excited about this new arrangement as it allows us to provide an enhanced level of support to operators on Van Nuys Airport and is consistent with our growth plans for the region,” said Scott Taylor, senior v-p of business aviation for StandardAero. “The move also advances our presence in an active business aviation market, allowing us greater service capabilities along the West Coast.”
