Bruce Dickinson, singer for rock group Iron Maiden and a commercial pilot, is opening a 132,000-sq-ft maintenance operation. Cardiff Aviation will be based in an enterprise zone in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. Dickinson is targeting the MRO market for aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 767. “We’re coming into this enterprise with the knowledge we’ll be bringing business to south Wales. A cautious projection is we expect to create up to a thousand jobs within 18 months based on the level of interest from aircraft manufacturers and operators.”
