Amavco has acquired Field Aviation. Established in 1947 in Calgary, Alberta, Field has facilities in Toronto, Calgary, Seattle and Cincinnati. The company’s products and services include aircraft modification, parts manufacturing, interior modifications and upgrades, avionics service and installation, and aircraft sales and leasing. Field Aviation operates from two Canadian production facilities totaling 150,000 sq ft, and has a U.S. West Coast sales office in Seattle.

John Mactaggart, president and CEO of Field Aviation, told AIN, “Amavco is a U.S.-owned aviation holding company with its primary focus on the markets served by Field Aviation. Amavco will fast-track its U.S. expansion plans with the addition of a U.S. modification center either by growth or via acquisition.” As part of a U.S.-owned company now (Amavco is based in Cincinnati), Field Aviation will be in a position to act as a prime contractor on U.S. business, serving the interest of its U.S. operations as well as its Canadian modification, parts manufacturing and avionics businesses. “We expect to add 80 to 125 new jobs within the first several years of operations in the U.S.,” said Mactaggart.
