Jet Aviation Teterboro has opened a new avionics shop and received a limited instrument and limited radio rating from the FAA. The additional capabilities, shop space and staff allow the MRO to perform line maintenance, offer AOG support and provide inspections for avionics equipment. The authorizations apply to the operation’s foreign certificates as well. “We have the avionics talent in our organization, so it made sense to provide the service ourselves. It gives us better control and the ability to improve our customer service,” John Langevin, vice president and general manager, told AIN. “We’re close to signing dealership agreements with several avionics OEMs and initiating agreements with others. We’ll be associated with all major brands of avionics used on corporate aircraft.” The company renovated existing space adjacent to its maintenance services offices to create the avionics shop and also leased additional hangar space so the repair station could support aircraft associated with avionics repair and installation. Jet Aviation Teterboro’s Matt Nevelle is heading up the three-technician team. “We are prepared to hire additional technicians in support of our clients, as needed,” he said.
