Berkley Accident and Health has set up Encap Business Aviation Captive to create “an insurance brokerage program specifically for business aviation employers that employ between ten and 1,000 employees,” Joe Clifton, director of JP Benefits Connection, told AIN. The program offers medical and prescription coverage. Cigna handles the medical claims and provides the physician network while JP Benefits Connection deals directly with the corporations. “We offer disability, dental and life insurance separately. We’re essentially an outsource benefits department providing employee advocacy services in the resolution of benefit claim issues. We assist insured members and their families with benefit claims at no additional cost,” he said. “This program brings small companies together to self insure and share the risk with other business aviation employers so instead of 30 employers with 100 employees looking for insurance you have one program with 3,000 employees. It gives you buying power and risk mitigation.” JP Benefits Connection is endorsed by the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association and will be having a webinar explaining the program free to the public on July 28 at 10:30 a.m. (EST) on the PAMA website.
