“We now have an agreement in place with Hawker Pacific in Shanghai to become our next authorized service center (ASC) once all MRO approvals have been granted,” Frank Youngkin, senior vice president of Western hemisphere customer service at Dassault Falcon, told AIN today in an exclusive interview. The company officially announced at EBACE this week an agreement with Jet Aviation Hong Kong to establish a Dassault Falcon authorized line service station at Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok Airport by the end of this year. The facility will be authorized to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance up through A and A+ level checks for the Falcon 2000EX EASy, 2000DX, 2000LX, 900EX EASy, 900DX, 900LX and 7X. Initially, the facility will be able to perform maintenance on FAA- and Hong Kong-registered Falcons, but the company expects to add European approval in the first half of next year. “Because of the high level of transient traffic and a growing fleet of Hong Kong-based Falcons, an ASC in Hong Kong is essential for all Falcon customers. The China and Asia markets are rapidly expanding, as is transient traffic in Hong Kong, so this agreement is of vital importance to all of our customers,” said Jacques Chauvet, Dassault Falcon’s senior vice president for worldwide customer service. The company will also position $1.1 million in parts and tooling to support the Hong Kong operation, bringing to about $8 million the total value of Dassault Falcon replacement parts in Asia. Currently the company also has a field technical representative based in Beijing.
