Mumbai Added to Bombardier’s Support Network
“Despite the challenging economic times, Bombardier has continued to invest in strengthening its service and support network worldwide. With about 40 business and commercial aircraft based in India, Bombardier has chosen Mumbai for its fifth regional support office [RSO],” said James Hoblyn, president customer services and specialized and amphibious aircraft Bombardier Aerospace. The Mumbai RSO will be the first to serve both Bombardier business aircraft and commercial aircraft operators. According to Hoblyn, the facility is part of an effort to serve the company’s growing international customer base with access to regionalized support services in their own time zones and languages. The 1,900-sq-ft facility is located near the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, and the RSO is currently being overseen by Subeer Kapoor, the RSO’s manager. Technical support is being provided by Ravi Vats, field service representative (FFSR) commercial aircraft, and Sriram Sethuraman, FSR business aircraft. “The Asia-Pacific region is an important market for Bombardier, and we are moving decisively to expand our services and support presence there so that our customers can benefit from strong working relationships and quick response times in their own backyard,” Hoblyn said.
