Aftermarket service and support provider Southwind Aviation has been named an authorized service center by Goodrich Engine Control and Electrical Power Systems for various DC power generation and distribution systems products. George Andrews, president and founding partner of Southwind Aviation, told AIN that under the terms of the agreement the company will provide authorized repair, overhaul, exchange and spares support for Goodrich products, including starter generators, generator control units and brushless generators used on Cessna, Embraer, Hawker Beechcraft, Bell and Sikorsky business and general aviation aircraft, regional airliners and helicopters. As part of the Goodrich Electrical Power Systems global service network, the company receives the full backing and benefit of Goodrich’s technical support, training and publications. According to Andrews, the company had to pass a “rigorous technical and commercial evaluation” by Goodrich before its appointment. “We are extremely pleased and proud to be selected by Goodrich to support its electrical power systems products,” he said. The company provides power system repair, overhaul and exchange services to business aviation, regional airline and helicopter operators.
