Cessna Aircraft Expands Customer Support Worldwide
Cessna’s fifth Citation mobile service unit (MSU) and two-technician crew starts service this week, based at Sheltair Aviation at Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale International Airport. “Customer response to the introduction of our new service initiatives through ServiceDirect has been superb, particularly for the mobile service units,” said Mark Paolucci, Cessna senior vice president for customer service. “South Florida was a natural location for our newest MSU, due not only to the high concentration of Citations based here from the Keys to West Palm Beach and over to Naples, but the high number of aircraft regularly visiting the region as well.” Emphasizing its growing commitment to customer support, Cessna says its ServiceDirect provides a wider range of customer-service options for Citation operators beyond the company’s service centers and the choice of where they want the service performed. This includes on-site maintenance operations and long-term logistics support such as A&P placement and contract support.
Matt Melillo has been appointed general manager of the ServiceDirect maintenance option. Among the resources under Melillo’s direction will be a growing fleet of mobile service units and AOG support through Cessna’s dedicated Air Response Team–flying a Cessna Citation dedicated to AOG parts delivery.
Cessna also continues to expand its international support and announced yesterday it has named Metrojet, located in the Hong Kong Business Aviation Center in Lantau, Hong Kong, an authorized Citation service facility for the Citation XLS and XLS+.
“Appointing Metrojet will further enhance the support we provide our customers in this region. Metrojet will join a growing group of authorized facilities we are establishing in the region to support this rapidly growing market,” Paolucci said. Cessna will work with Metrojet in the coming months to upgrade its support services to include the remaining Citation product line.
The company also announced yesterday it has reached agreement with sister company Bell Helicopter to use Bell’s Asia parts distribution facility in Singapore to further enhance parts distribution to Citation operators in Asia and the Pacific Rim region. “We’ve had remarkable success with our partnership with Bell’s European parts center announced last year. It made sense to continue building on that success and bring the same increased Citation parts availability and decreased response time for AOG situations to our customers in this region,” Paolucci said.
