NetJets officially opened its new dedicated passenger terminal at Van Nuys (Calif.) Airport on Thursday. Built on a Maguire Aviation leasehold in partnership with Maguire, the new 10,000-sq-ft facility is located on the east side of the airport, near the center and adjacent to Western Jet Aviation. Stevie’s Catering occupies 1,000 sq ft in the NetJets facility.

NetJets is keeping the dedicated facility open 24/7, with a staff of three NetJets personnel and about a dozen Maguire employees. Amenities at the new facility include a large passenger lounge, conference room, private office, children’s play room, crew lounge with two quiet rooms, dispatch center, flight planning room, crew showers and a 2.5-acre ramp. The Van Nuys NetJets terminal is the company’s first standalone private FBO, and plans call for adding more such facilities at West Palm Beach, Fla., Pontiac, Mich., Atlanta and San Jose, Calif.

For customers, said NetJets Van Nuys guest services representative Chris Jahn, “This is an incentive to use Van Nuys instead of LAX or Burbank.” Asked about how passengers like the new private facility, a NetJets pilot in the lounge told AIN, “It’s awesome.”
