The Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (Abace) will take place at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport for at least the next four years, NBAA president Ed Bolen said today at Abace 2012, which is being hosted this week at Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre at the Shanghai airfield.

“Shanghai is a great regional hub and attracts people from all over the world,” he said. “Our Ebace and Labace shows are permanently located at Geneva and São Paulo, which seems to work well for people, and it’s possible that we will do the same with Abace in Shanghai.”

Shanghai Airports Authority (SAA) chairman Nianzu Wu confirmed that NBAA and SAA have reached an agreement that lasts until 2016 and added that business aviation will play an important role in Shanghai’s future development.

Abace 2012, which officially opens tomorrow to trade attendees, features more than 100 exhibitors in the two exhibit halls, chalets and static display. In addition, a full program of educational sessions, moderated by experts on the Asian region, is scheduled to take place throughout the event.
