The venue for the G8 Summit scheduled for mid-May has been moved from Chicago to Camp David near Frederick, Md. It will now be held at Camp David on May 18 and 19, which will affect aircraft flying into Hagerstown and Frederick Airports in Maryland, as well as Franklin County Airport in Chambersburg, Pa. The Martinsburg (W.Va.) Airport, which is the closest airport outside the restricted area and the designated reliever, has an 8,800-foot ILS-equipped runway and a control tower.

Cindy,

Camp David (more formally called Naval Support Facility Thurmont) is 24 miles north of Frederick Airport, so it is certainly “near Frederick.” Also, Camp David has been used by U.S. Presidents since 1942, so unless you’ve been a “long-time resident” longer than that, you knew what you were getting into when you decided to live in Thurmont. I hear the same hollow argument about those who buy a house near an airport and then later complain about the airport noise, even though they knew the airport was nearby before buying the house.
