Charter broker Avinode said today that business jet departures in the U.S. have started out somewhat slower this year. During the first 22 days of 2012, there were 99,981 business jet departures in the U.S., according to research done by the company. That number is 6.2 percent lower than in the same period last year. However, Avinode noted, it is up 0.9 percent from 2010 and 15.5 percent higher than 2009. Ultra-long-range jets have taken the biggest hit in the early January numbers, it said.
