NBAA Awards $41,000 in Aviation Schedulers and Dispatchers Scholarships
NBAA and its Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Committee is awarding $41,000 in scholarship funds this year to seven people seeking to advance their aviation careers through continuing education, the association announced yesterday at the S&D Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Signature Flight Support, Universal Weather & Aviation, AC-U-KWIK, Jet Aviation, Savoya and Rockwell Collins Flight Information Solutions provided funding for this year’s awards. The 2013 scholarship award recipients are: Anthony DiBiase, Natalie Garner, Rebecca Hughes, Nicholas Kowaleski, Michelle Lussier, Anna Marron and Kimberly Streety.
NBAA’s S&D Committee offers scholarships through two separate but related programs that promote professional and career development for business aviation schedulers and dispatchers. Via the Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship Program, the committee offers cash grants that can be used for several professional development initiatives. Since 1997, more than $501,250 has been awarded to schedulers and dispatchers through this program. A separate Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship Program, which started in 2004, offers opportunities for scholarship recipients to gain access to hands-on teaching initiatives.
