A 1979 Learjet 35A, registered to Diplomat Aviation (Bahamas) as N17UF, crashed at 5:10 p.m. Sunday evening while on approach to Grand Bahama International Airport in the Bahamas. All nine people on board were killed, including evangelist and motivational speaker Myles Monroe and his wife, Ruth. Weather was reportedly bad at the time of the accident, with heavy rain and strong wind. An airline flight reportedly performed a missed approach shortly before the Learjet struck a crane used to unload shipping containers.
