Texas airport named customs user-fee site

The U.S. Customs Service has revised the list of user-fee airports by adding Edinburgh Airport in Texas and removing Arkansas Aeroplex at Blytheville, Ark. These actions were taken at the request of the airports. The complete list contains 36 airports designated as user-fee facilities. User-fee customs airports are those which, while not qualifying as an international or landing-rights facility due to insufficient volume of business, will provide customs services for a fee. While the airport’s authority agrees to pay customs a flat fee annually, the fee is normally passed through to those receiving customs clearances. Fees vary from facility to facility.
