Operators intending to enter any of the nine designated temporary flight restriction (TFR) areas in effect during the Olympic Winter Games around Salt Lake City Valley and Northern Utah in February must have advance permission. The Utah Olympic Public Safety Command (UOPSC) is now accepting permission request applications, which must be returned to the UOPSC no later than December 3. The games are scheduled to be held from February 2 to 24. TFRs will be designated over the following sites: the Olympic Village in Salt Lake City; the E Center in West Valley City; Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns; Peaks Ice Arena in Provo; the Ice Sheet in Ogden; Snowbasin Ski Area in Huntsville; Utah Olympic Park; Park City and Deer Valley Mountain Resorts in Park City; and Soldier Hollow in Heber City.
