Scottsdale (Ariz.) Air Center and its sibling, Santa Fe (N.M.) Air Center will soon have new ownership. Current owner Herb Marchman has signed a purchase agreement with Ross Aviation for the two facilities. Backed by private equity firm Centre Partners, Ross Aviation is on the acquisition trail and recently bought its first FBO at Jefferson County (Jeffco) Airport outside Denver. The deal for the two southwest FBOs is contingent on approval from local authorities, expected to take about 60 days.

Scottsdale Air Center, which opened in March 2003, has been rated among the top five FBOs in the past two AIN FBO surveys covering North, Central and South America. Scottsdale Air Center general manager Tommy Walker told AIN, “The transition will be totally transparent to our customers. Other than the financial arrangements, everything will look exactly the same.” All signage will remain the same, as will the FBOs’ ExxonMobil Avitat status, and Walker and Marchman will remain on the management team.
